partners wrote new prescriptions for opioids - 145 pills in all. On Feb. 12, 2012, nine days after his surgery, Martin’s roommate in Boone found him lying in bed without a pulse. An autopsy revealed Martin had overdosed from a toxic mix of cocaine and prescription medications, including the types of opioids obtained from his doctors.
