GREEN BAY – A 24-year-old Green Bay woman was charged on Tuesday with killing and then decapitating a Green Bay man at a west-side home last week after smoking methamphetamine with him.
Taylor Schabusiness is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse and third-degree sexual assault. In a criminal complaint, Brown County prosecutors accused her of removing parts of the victim's body, using a bread knife and another knife found at the scene of the killing.
The complaint describes how officers made their grisly discovery in a home in the 800 block of Stony Brook Lane. A police officer went down the basement stairs and saw a plastic bucket on the floor. He "lifted the towel and observed a human head inside the bucket. (He) ... looked around the room and observed what appeared to be dried blood on a nearby mattress," the complaint said.

Officers and detectives found other blood around the home's basement, as well.
Brown County Court Commissioner Chad Resar on Tuesday set bail for Schabusiness at $2 million. Assistant Brown County District Attorney Caleb Saunders cited the "violent and grave nature of the offense" and said the killing was one of the most serious to have been committed in Brown County in a long time.
Green Bay police officers had been called about 3:25 a.m. Feb. 23 to the home on Stony Brook Lane, where they found the victim's body. Police have yet to reveal his name.
Schabusiness was taken into custody Feb. 23 at a home in the 2300 block of Eastman Avenue on the city's east side. She was "a known associate of the victim," Green Bay police said Tuesday in a news release.
In the criminal complaint, prosecutors said Schabusiness and the man first smoked methamphetamine together on Feb. 23. They then began a sexual encounter that included Schabusiness choking the man with a chain, the complaint said, and eventually strangling him with her bare hands.
She also made comments to detectives, the complaint said, "asking if they knew what it was like to love something so much that you kill it."
It was unclear from the complaint exactly when the victim stopped breathing; Schabusiness estimated that it took 3 to 5 minutes from when she began choking the man, but could not be exact because she had blacked out at some point.

A Pennsylvania man is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and hiding in the attic after they met on the social media platform OnlyFans.
Mauricio Damian Guerrero, 20, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, allegedly broke into the woman’s home in Somersworth, New Hampshire, multiple times last month according to the Somersworth Police Department.
The woman told law enforcement officials that she awoke to someone standing in her doorway on Feb 9, according to an affidavit from the police department obtained by USA TODAY. Police heard footsteps on the roof, where they said they found Guerrero.

The man was detained, and the woman confirmed that she met him through her OnlyFans account in October 2021. She said she previously gave the man her address after he said he wanted to buy her a television and fireplace.
The woman said Guerrero admitted to her before he was arrested that he had been to an apartment where she previously resided. He once appeared outside of her home, and she let him in for approximately two hours, according to the affidavit.
Police said Guerrero told officials that he went to the woman’s home to take back the fireplace and television and went into the attic when he heard people in the home. The woman found food in the attic, as well as urine in a cup. Officials also found a Bluetooth tracking device.

Police said the man admitted to taking videos of the woman naked without her knowledge in the home. He also said he planned to put the tracking device on her car, according to the affidavit.
The woman, who has a young child, told police she noticed that, in the days before Guerrero’s arrest, her keys were temporarily missing in her home. Mauricio told officers after he was arrested that he had taken the woman’s key and made a copy.

Alfie Oakes arrested at South Florida casino, says the casino is a 'sore loser'

Naples grocer Alfie Oakes faces a charge of disorderly conduct after an altercation took place at a South Florida casino, officials say.
On Sunday, Oakes, 53, was attempting to cash in casino chips at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, but he refused to provide identification, a Seminole Police Department spokesperson said.
The Seminole Tribe of Florida owns the casino in Hollywood, which offers guests a selection of 3,100 slots, nearly 200 table games, and a 45-table poker room.

He was booked into Broward County Jail and was released on a $25 bond.
No stranger to controversy
Oakes, a farmer and major food retailer and distributor, is no stranger to controversy – or attention.
When asked for comment, Oakes wrote in an email to the Naples Daily News that the casino was giving him a hard time cashing in chips, but that he was never asked for identification "when they took my cash."
He added, "sore losers! $8700.00 in winnings (minus) $25.00 bond. $8675.00 to the good...still not a bad night."

The owner of Oakes Farms, Seed to Table, Oakes Farm Market and Food & Thought, is a self-made businessman, known for both his success and his strong political and personal views, espoused at public forums and through social media.
Oakes participated in the "Save America March" in Washington, D.C. on the day of the riots at the Capitol — and funded two busloads of local supporters to attend the pro-Trump rally.
He denied any involvement in the insurrection, telling the Daily News after he returned from the rally that protesters were "supporting liberty and freedom." He blamed left-wing activists for the siege on the U.S. Capitol, describing his trip as amazing.

He described COVID-19 as a “hoax”
He's a major supplier of fresh produce — and other foods, not just through his own private retail and distribution channels, but through federal contracts.
In 2020, he fought Collier County’s mask order, refusing to follow it in his stores and challenging it in court. He described COVID-19 as a “hoax.”

The Lee County School School District ended its food supply contract with Oakes after he declared both the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement as hoaxes and called George Floyd a "disgraceful career criminal." He sued the district over its decision.

Admitted pedophile caught with Fresno girl, 12, can represent self in court, judge says

A federal judge will allow accused kidnapper and pedophile Nathan Larson to defend himself against charges he kidnapped a 12-year-old girl from Fresno because he intended to sexually assault her.
In a hearing Friday, United States District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston granted Nathan Larson’s request to serve as his own defense attorney.
The 41-year-old Larson, an admitted pedophile, is charged with several felonies that could put him in prison for life, if he is found guilty.

The judge also allowed Larson of Virginia to designate defense attorney Peter Jones as his “standby counsel.”
Jones described his role Friday as being more of a legal consultant. “He will represent himself fully,” Jones said. “I am not his attorney of record.”
A status hearing is scheduled for April 1. It is unclear when Larson’s trial would begin.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in illegal sexual activity, coercion and enticement of a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, and receipt and distribution of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
Larson was arrested on December, 14 2020 at the Denver International Airport. He was attempting to take the 12-year-old Fresno girl to his home in Virginia where his plan was to sexually assault her and impregnate her when she turned 13, according to court records.
He allegedly began grooming her online after he found her on a rape/kidnap fetish website he operated from his home in Virginia, according to court records.
Larson is an accountant whose criminal history includes, a prison sentence in 2008 for threatening to assassinate President George W. Bush.
In 2018, Larson ran for Congress in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District but later withdrew. In a Huffington Post article about his candidacy, he was reported to have “endorsed child rape, father-daughter marriage, killing women and raping virgins.”
Last year, federal prosecutors raised a doubt about Larson’s mental competency and asked a judge to have him be evaluated by a mental health professional with the Bureau of Prisons.
A forensic evaluation was done and in January it was determined that there was “no reasonable cause to believe Larson is currently incompetent to stand trial...”

Colorado needs more than 100% snowpack thanks to drought. March and April are critical months.

<===================================================================>

usaa insurance - #1:Colorado needs more than 100% snowpack thanks to drought. March and April are critical months.

Colorado needs more than 100% effort out of Mother Nature when it comes to snowpack, especially as we enter the two most critical snow months of the season — March and April.
That's because persistent drought has gripped all parts of Colorado to various degrees, leaving soil dry and thirsty for water that would otherwise run into the state's streams and reservoirs. That affects everyone from Durango to Denver and Springfield to Steamboat Springs.
Statewide snowpack Friday was at 92% of average, but a snow-laden storm brewing for the weekend carried the promise of 10-20 inches of snow in the state's northern mountains.

But just how much more than 100% snowpack does Colorado need to soak the dry soil and still have enough for adequate river flows come spring and summer?
State climatologist Russ Schumacher said there isn't a magic number just yet, but the Colorado Climate Center and others are working on figuring it out.
"A lot of people are asking that question, especially the last few years,'' he said. "But we don't have a simple number right now where we can say we need 110% or 120%.''

Schumacher said drought has not had as firm a grip on Colorado's northern mountains as it has for the southwestern part of the state and Colorado River basin, which has suffered through a two-decade megadrought influenced by climate change.
Drought here has a ripple effect downstream on the millions of people across the U.S. West who rely on the Colorado River for water.
That makes this March and April, when snowpack reaches its peak here, even more critical.
Schumacher said a La Nina pattern still exists in Colorado. Historically, La Nina springs tend to be drier and warmer than average, which can further complicate matters.
He said last year, which also was a La Nina year, saw warm and dry conditions in April surrounded by wet weather in March and May, blunting April's impact.
"March and April are key months in any year, but especially in La Nina years,'' Schumacher said. "If you don't get some of those snowstorms and it gets warm over an extended period of time the snowpack melts too early.''
After last year's wet spring, the second half of the year saw extremely hot and dry conditions. Fortunately for Colorado's drought-stricken Western Slope, a modest monsoon season brought some relief.
However, early snowpack runoff coupled with a lack of monsoonal moisture can lead to increased wildfire risk in late summer and into fall.
That's why each snowstorm like the one forecast for this weekend is so critical for everyone from recreationists to ranchers, and from rural folks who rely on wells to city dwellers who rely on reservoirs.
"We have two months to go for snow accumulation, so a lot depends on March and April as we get to peak snowpack,'' Schumacher said.
