I was looking for a backup watch to use, when my more expensive watch was in for service, which takes a good month where I live. I wanted a simple watch, not too big or too heavy, and decided on the TIMEX Weekender among the thousands of watches offered by Amazon. I chose this one for its simple design and classic look. When it arrived, I first thought it was a bit on the big side, much bigger than the 36 mm diameter listed in the product specification. But when I measured it, I found that it was very close to 36 mm after all. Watches smaller than that are, however, hard to find these days. But I see no reason to walk around with a huge lump of steel tied to my wrist, and so I think a modest size is the right choice for a new watch. This watch runs on a battery, but has analogue pointers. The large second hand moves with a jerky jump once every second, which takes a while to get used to. However, it runs very exact compared to a radio driven clock I use as alarm. In fact, after 3 days the two do not differ by more than a second, and I suspect it might be even less than that. Since radio driven clocks are continuouly synchronized with a timekeeping radio signal, they are the ones to trust 100%. But this TIMEX is not far off. When you put it to your ear, you can hear a loud click every second. The watch is encased in a solid piece of steel, and that is probably what conveys the impression of largeness. I was pleasantly surprised to see a greenish light, lighting up the clock's face when the crown is pressed. That will come in handy in the dark. The strap has been carefully made of a nylon-like woven material, lined with comfortable white leather. It looks and feels very sturdy. I should probably exchange it for a somewhat more pliable leather strap, but not while this one is still brand new. In fact it looks so solid, that I expect it to last a long long time. I have, however, only had this watch for about a week, and I know nothing about its electronic reliability, or how often it will need a new battery, nor if it works well in really moist weather. But so far I certainly cannot complain. The only thing I can add to prospective buyers, is that when you unwrap your package, you will probably agree that it looks bigger and feels heavier, than what you thought after only having seen the photo. I give it five stars for a good impression, useful features, and an extremely moderate price.

4/5: Almost perfect. Better than any $10 watch you'll find at Wally-World or swap meet.
PROS: Perfect watch for hiking/outdoor sports/rough work conditions. Cheap enough that you won't care if it is scratched up or damaged, but has all the functions you need for an afternoon out. Stopwatch, 5 alarms, countdown, dual time zone. Backlight is bright, green-ish led from bottom left corner is good. This has the most variety of alarm functions I've ever seen. Sits very flush.
CONS: Only complaint is tht the buttons protrude a little too far. Good for easy pushing, but can also get inadvertantly pressed. Haven't had the time change on me, but have had random changes from 12hr to 24hr format. Once turned on the alarm on accident. Since the defalt alarm time is midnight, I had a rude awakening. My easy solution was to set all the alarm default to the time I end work. So if it goes off I just get a heads up to dig out. :)

What can you expect from a $12 timepiece? As long as it tells time and a battery that could last ten years, I'm sure you can't go wrong with this one; with Casio quality to boot.

A great price on these batteries, but unfortunately I've found they only last about 1/3 as long as the name brand versions you find at the local drug store. Given the price, they might still be worth it even though you end up changing them out quicker, but I'm torn because I'm ending up creating a lot more trash by using these - which is not very environmentally friendly of me.

I purchased these to go in a remote shock collar for a dog. The collar eats batteries when it's left on, but turning it on/off makes it extremely inconvinient to use. I was getting around 3 days of standby and sporatic use out of Duracell and Energizer batteries from the grocery store. They cost anywhere from $1.5 - $2 each, and the collar uses 2 at a time. With these I'm getting arounc 2 days under the same usage patterns, but they cost around $0.15 each. While these obviously only last about 2/3 as long as the major name batteries, the price difference is 10-12x, so these are still a very good value if you don't mind changing batteries a tad more often.

I am the type that has not had a watch for years; essentially since I started carrying around a cell phone that could tell me that time without worrying about carrying around another thing. I don't like going to the effort of carrying around something I'm not really going to use. However, I am now in nursing school, and will forever on need a watch with a second hand to take pulse and respiration rates. This made me sad. I tried to find an affordable watch that I could live with from Sears, Walmart, Target, etc, and utterly failed. If I found something that looked nice it wouldn't fit, it would be out of my newly-married college student price range, or be unreliable. After returning two watches that I "settled" with, I decided to try my luck on Amazon.
Here are the things I find important in a watch:
- Has a second hand. That works. For longer than a week.
- Will fit comfortably... Won't be loose, clunky, or excessively heavy.
- Will have a classic look that I can wear to work, parties, or whatever.
- Will fit in my extremely limited budget.
- Extras are nice, especially alarms and date.
This watch delivers with flying colors on all the important things for my needs. The price is great. I barely feel it when I'm wearing it, and the leather band fits around my wrist comfortably and prevents it from sliding down my arm when I raise my hand. It's very easy to read, it's extremely light, it's relatively slim, and its design is classy; it doesn't look cheap in any way (not expensive either, but not cheap). It's just trying to be useful and classic, and it succeeds.
As far as the last thing, alarms and dates and such, this watch does not have that. It has a day of the month thing on the face, but no month or year, so I'll probably have to adjust it occasionally (which is very easy, just not something I want to have to think about). No extras aside from what you see on the face of the watch, period. The only other complaint I have about the watch is the noise. The ticking noise this makes would lead not only Captain Hook to want to smash it, but many others. Especially when they are trying to study. If you point the face away from your ear, or cover it up, the sound disappears, but if you are propping your head up with that hand it's a lost cause. This isn't a huge thing, but it is worth noting.
All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase, and appreciate the fact that what I saw was what I got.

I'm far-sighted and I need to remove my glasses to see up close. With a typical digital watch checking the time was a two handed maneuver. This watch is EZ to read on the fly, with a big face and bold numbers. And lemme tell you about the backlight! Bright as heck, you could use it to flag down a jumbo jet (almost). I appreciate that it's thin, and most of the face is used for the watch, not for some slidey compass gizmo that makes you look like Chuck Yeager or Indiana Jones. Loud ticking? BFD. It's a watch. If it keeps you up at night you have bigger problems than a loud watch. On the nightstand it's gonna be loud, so put it on top of something soft, you'll be surprised at the difference. Thank me later.
The thing about analog: I'm not a runner or an aviator, so I don't need precision chronometrics. If I really need an alarm, I use my phone. I bet my phone has a stopwatch if I really need one. When I check the time, I don't need to know that it's 7:56:48, I just need to know that it's almost eight. Loosey goosey.
Analog vs. digital: My kids have trouble reading an analog clock, and they're almost teenagers. If I walk into the TV room and say, "It's time for bed, it's ten o'clock," they'll say, no, it's nine-fifty-eight!" The main thing is, Analog shows the time in a relative way, Digital in an absolute way. The idea of "a quarter past one" doesn't exist in digital time; it's 1:15. The hour is shown in an elapsing, progressing, way, quarters, thirds, halves, VISUALLY, like a sundial. You don't need to know if it's precisely noon, just that it's lunchtime. Digital reduces time to a technical statistic, like cholesterol. Your brain has to interpret it into Time-time: "It's 11:26, um, let's see, twenty four minutes to lunch," too much mental energy. A glance at an analog watch and you know it's time to start those gastric juices a bubbling. A digital watch is useful only on New Year's Eve and at the birth of a baby.
I wear a watch 24/7, sleeping, making whoopie, showering, changing the oil in my car. I like to be able to check the time in the middle of the night. "Thank God, it's only 3:30. Back to sleep." My main worry is about getting a tan line in the summer. But my life is relatively worry-free. I hope yours will be, and this watch will help.

I've had this watch for well over a year. It has withstood salt water, fresh water, rough treatment from all types of dry and wet sports. Hard to beat for $15.00. I love how easily adjustable the velcro band is in spite of getting caught in things. But most of all, I like the light. I'v grown very attached to being able to clearly see the watch face with a touch of a button and not have to depend on "luminescent" hands that fade to darkness within a few minutes after being exposed to light. This watch has only one flaw. It's ugly. It's fine for wearing during sports activities, but I would love this watch in a dressier format. Dear Armitron, please make this sports watch pretty

Very pleased with this sporty watch. I usually have trouble with watches because I have a very small wrist. This watch with a velcro band was easy to adjust. The watch face is easy to read and attractive in the black. Watch has a second hand and is waterproof. I also love the button for light when you need to see the time in the dark.

As a gift for my grandmother this was a good purchase. She was wanting a watch so the added bracelet was a bonus. I think the watch was used because it didn't have a protective cover over the face and the pin was pulled and watch was keeping time already. I just hope the battery last more than a couple months. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase. Grandma loves it and that is what matters.

All in all, it is OK. It is just not "my favorite" and I don't "love it". And it was too small on my wrist

I ordered these batteries, qty 2 packages, as shown in a 2 battery blister pack with an expiration date of 2016. I received 4 bulk batteries with no known expiration date. Amazon shows no return policy for the vendor and provides a contact number which I called several times with no answer. I would stick with one of the other vendors, looks like I'm stuck with the substitition and unknown expiration date. No big thing it's only 6 bucks but you should get what you order.

I was surprised by the large size and weight of this watch. The only problem is that the band comes sized for a giant and cannot be adjusted simply. For 20 years I have had watches with link bands with a simple clasp that has easy and obvious adjustability. I am disappointed that neither Amazon nor Princeton give any advice on this. Pulsar's web site says to take it to a certified Pulsar dealer.
Amazon has tools for removing the pins that hold the links. Search for watch band pin remover. Some of the customer comments there are very helpful to understand the mechanical process for removing links to shorten the band.
But if you are at all handy at fixing things you can do it with two simple tools. A small pliers, preferably a bent-nose needle nose, and a small drift punch. That's a punch with a flat, not pointed, face. No hammer required, just hand pressure. If you don't have a punch, you can fashion one from almost anything. One guy claimed using a paper clip.
On the inside of the band at the pin location find the arrow that tells you from which side to press out the pin. Press the pin, you will feel it move with a slight snap. Then with the pliers pull it out the other side. But pull it out slowly and look carefully at the pin as it comes out.
The pin also has an arrow which tells you the direction and orientation for re-inserting later. The end of the pin its arrow points to has a tiny circular shape cut into the side. This provides the locking snap you can barely hear.
I removed two links from one side and one on the other, which shortened the band about 1 1/8 inch.
For finer adjustment there are three positions for the pin that holds the clasp to the band. This looks to be a standard spring loaded watch band pin, not like the solid pins in the links. I didn't need to use them, so I didn't attempt to remove it.
That's it. Good luck.
Later observation. The luminous dial does not work. 10 minutes after lights out, the hand luminosity disappears. Very disappointing.

This watch is great, it looks very nice and is very reliable. I bought one last year for my husband, he likes it and wears it every day. Even after a year it hardly shows any wear. It is a nice watch for every day and as a dress watch, too. We are very happy with it, it is worth his prize. It is easy to read, there is no guess what the exact time is and it has the date as well. All in one a wonderful watch.

The Casio Story
With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.
In developing its own wristwatches Casio began with the basic question, ""What is a wristwatch?"" Rather than simply making a digital version of the conventional mechanical watch, we thought that the ideal wristwatch should be something that shows all facets of time in a consistent way. Based on this, Casio was able to create a watch that displayed the precise time including the second, minute, hour, day, and month — not to mention a.m. or p.m., and the day of the week. Rather than using a conventional watch face and hands, a digital liquid crystal display was adopted to better show all the information. The Bulova Story
In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.
Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. This watch really truly is. I also made the unfortunate mistake of buying this watch at an after-Thanksgiving day department store promo, with the added benefit of long lines and $100 more to the price. Save some money and get this beautiful sparkly here... notice the way it catches the light when you're driving. Shine and beauty, and you would not believe how many compliments!

I got this watch for Mother's Day, with my initials engraved into the back of the dial -- I was so pleased. It's beautiful, the diamonds are just enough, the size is right between too small and too big making it the PERFECT size.
I laughed when I went to a local jewlery store and the woman asked if I had bought it there. She further stated it was on "sale" for $469.00, 30.00 off the original price. I smiled and told her we hadn't even paid $270.00, we saved over 200.00 off their sale price. If you want this watch BUY it, you will not find it any lower the $374.00 a sale price offered by a major department store.

This was a present for my mom who has a small wrist, and this watch is the perfect size, anything larger would have been too big. She also likes that it's thin and not at all bulky. The desgin and colors are clean and looks great. We've always had Seiko watches in my family, I got my first one 27 years ago, and now I'm only on my second daily-wear one, which attests to the high quality of Seiko watches. Plus it was so much cheaper purchasing from Amazon, I got this one for $90, which sells for around $130 on sale in department stores.

I had been looking for a dual-tone watch with a square white face for weeks, and was so happy to finally find this Seiko. Huge plus that it fits that description, double plus that it's sophisticated and has a streamlined look, and triple plus for the killer price for the brand. Amazon shipped it immediately and I got it in what feels like days. Great value and beautiful product!
